Invisalign — the Alternative to Traditional Braces

Metal braces have long been the go-to solution for those who want to realign their teeth and improve their smiles, but they are often seen as a huge hassle. Not only are metal braces sometimes expensive, but they can also be very unsightly and uncomfortable. The end result of wearing braces is often worth the trouble, but many orthodontic patients would prefer some kind of alternative.

Enter Invisalign.

This relatively new system has become very popular with patients because it lets them realign their teeth without having to deal with the hassle of metal braces. The often-unsightly wires and brackets are replaced with a series of clear plastic aligners that are unnoticeable and can be easily removed and replaced.

A typical system consists of aligners that are switched out approximately every two weeks. The mouthpieces slowly move the patient’s teeth into a straighter position in a process that works surprisingly quickly.

While there are some serious orthodontic issues that can only be corrected through more elaborate treatments, Invisalign has proven to be very effective even in handling severe overbite and underbite cases, and even those who believed that they couldn’t benefit from invisible braces have seen positive results. Cost is also rarely a factor, as invisible braces often cost about the same as traditional metal braces, if not slightly less.

If you desire a more beautiful smile but don’t like the idea of wearing uncomfortable or unsightly metal braces, talk to us about Invisalign and find out if it is right for you.
