Fall and winter bring a sense of cheer and giving that cannot be matched. The holidays are a time when people donate canned goods, food, clothing, toys, presents, and even their time and energy to make the best of the season for the less fortunate. All over the country families come together over food, exchanging their presents, love and cheer; all for the sake of making the holiday season more enjoyable.
This year, you can do your part to give back to the community by purchasing cosmetic dental holiday cards. The Texas Dental Association has announced it has three styles of holiday cards for sale this year.  The holiday cosmetic dental cards offer handmade greetings that cost either $25 per card, or $30 for 10 cards – depending on the style and design. Proceeds from the holiday cards benefit Texas residents through the Texas Dental Association Smile Foundation (TDASF).
The Texas Dental Association Smile Foundation works throughout Texas to “educate the public and profession about oral health and improve access to dental care for citizens of Texas,” according to their official website. Through the help of grants, donations, volunteers and sponsorships from San Antonio cosmetic dentists, and cosmetic dentists throughout Texas, the Texas Dental Association Smile Foundation is able to educate Texas on proper oral health. The TDASF also awards three dental school scholarships to incoming freshman at the following Texas dental schools:

  • Baylor College of Dentistry, Texas A&M University System in Dallas
  • The University of Texas Dental Branch, Houston
  • The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Dental School

The TDASF also awards one scholarship to a student pursuing a dental laboratory technician career at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Cosmetic dentistry is an important aspect of helping people who cannot help themselves when it comes to their smile. Underprivileged and underserved residents of Texas receive cosmetic dentistry and dental aid that can cost thousands of dollars. TDASF partners and volunteer cosmetic dentists help to provide smiles and dental work to Texas residents annually. The TDASF strives to raise money for underprivileged and underserved Texas residents every year, do your part this holiday season and purchase a handmade holiday card to help benefit the Texas Dental Association.
Dr. John Moore, DDS has been a contributing member of the TDA since 2001, donating over $21,000.00 in dental care and cosmetic dentistry to San Antonio.
